Our dear designated protagonist. Has a younger sister, and a perpetually busy mother. Has a tendency to get pulled along into whatever situations his friends initiate, and usually ends up having fun despite himself. Thinking about the future in all its uncertainty scares him. He's a bit stubborn, and can have a hard time accepting help even if he needs it, but knows that there are people who care about him. There really are.
Never moved on from the death of his childhood friend in middle school. It wasn't his fault. Lived an uneventful childhood, scattered with occasional pockets of human warmth, but never had any really close friends until high school.
